The Mermaid's Lullaby

I love to sleep with the wind on my nose
And my tail tucked into the deep
With a wave to cradle my head at night
And rock me off to sleep

The smell of the salt and the song of a seal
And the stars in an ink-black sky
I never could sleep in a regular bed
No matter how hard I'd try

For once you've seen the liquid gold
That lies on a moonlit sea
You'll always yearn for the open air
And a bed that's wild and free

With your hair spread out on the foamy deep
And the lap of the waves on shore
Just ask any sailor you might meet
Why he keeps coming back for more
